Now TV Inks Netflix Partnership For Hong Kong

NewsStandOnline.Net (17-March-2016): Hong Kong’s largest pay-TV and over-the-top (OTT) service provider now TV has entered into a partnership with subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) leader Netflix to provide the latter’s content via all-in-one IPTV/OTT set-top boxes (STBs).

Netflix content will be available from the second quarter of 2016, including original series such as Master of None, Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Orange is the New Black as well as a variety of documentaries and feature films.

The deal makes now TV makes the first broadcaster in Hong Kong to provide the best large screen experience for Netflix via its STBs and now one 4KTV all-in-one appliance, said Loke Kheng Tham, executive vice president of pay-TV for now TV owner PCCW.

Netflix global head of business development Bill Holmes also commented saying “Partnering with now TV is going to be an important component of Netflix growth in Hong Kong. We are delighted that Hong Kongers’ love for the wide variety of content on Netflix can now be experienced through now TV’s set-top boxes backed up by HKT’s best-in-class Internet provision and content distribution network.”
