NewsStandOnline.Net (12-April-2016): Ricky Ma, a 42-year-old product designer from Hong Kong has spent over $50,000 to create a lifelike robot that resembles actress Scarlett Johansson.

A Hong Kong robot enthusiast has fulfilled his childhood dream by building a life-sized robot inspired by Hollywood stunner Scarlett Johansson.

Ma Ziheng, also known as Ricky Ma, is a 42-year-old Hong Kong-based product and graphic designer. He has spent more than $50,000 and 18 months creating the female robot prototype, Mark 1.

Ma turned mainly to 3D printing technology to fashion the machine’s body, which he then dressed with a gray skirt and tight white crop top.

The robot can respond to questions and also has the ability to show a limited number of emotional responses.  It can move its arms and legs, turns its head and bow and even display facial expressions like winking, for example.  Ma also programmed the humanoid replica to respond to questions such as “Are you happy?” The robot also says “Hehe thank you” to statements like “I love you” and “you are so cute.”

Every kid has a dream. Ma said when he was a child, he wanted to build his own robot when he grew up because he liked watching animation about robots fighting with each other and playing games about robots.

Ma said he believes the importance of robots will grow and hopes an investor will buy his prototype, giving him the capital to build more.

He also wants to write a book about his experience to help other robot enthusiasts.
